And I wonder what your favorite song is.
Maybe we have something in common and we just don't know it yet but...
suppose there is a chance that I'm what you're looking for
and you're the same to me.
And hey, I bet you'd laugh at my jokes and
I bet I'd think your laugh is infectious and suppose that
maybe there's a possibility that we'd get along and
then maybe we'd have this connection that they say sometimes happens between two people.
And I wonder if we like the same bands and if
you like that part in The Wizard of Oz where the Wizard is revealed
to be nothing more than just a regular ol' guy,
proving that everyone has some kind of curtain around them
shielding who they truly are from the rest of the world.
But hey, maybe I don't want to shield my true self from you and
it's a stretch, but maybe...just maybe you don't want to shield your true self from me
and we just don't know it yet.
And who knows, but maybe I'd like who you really are and it's possible
that you'd like who I really am.
Maybe we'd enjoy each other's company and maybe we both have a soft spot
for classic rock and other such things that remind us of a time long passed that we remember even though were were never part of it.
And maybe I'd love your strange ways, and let's suppose you'd love mine and we could
maybe see something in each other that no one else sees and maybe this would be our little secret.
And maybe we'd feel that strange thing called love grow between us even though the rules of our sex strictly prohibit admitting that emotion beyond the barest of the bare minimum but
maybe that wouldn't matter to us and maybe we'd
break that rule and there's a chance you'd be happier for it, and possibly I'd be happier too.
Because maybe we need to be together and we just don't know it yet and maybe we do know but we just don't how to admit it to each other or what to say if we did and maybe this is what is keeping me from becoming yours and you from becoming mine, but maybe that's not what I want, and there's a chance that's not what you want either but
maybe we'll never know because maybe we are both scared of the outcome...
